Potential players should be comfortable sharing small houses, often with only one room, with several other participants of mixed gender. House assignation will be done by family/character. Some houses mainly have double beds, and we encourage players to share these in a way that makes sense for the characters, and/or feels the most comfortable for the players of the family. If the house/bed assignation feels too uncomfortable for any reason, there are plenty of reserve beds in other houses and we will be able to place you in one of them.
The larp is not focused on intimate play, but you should be comfortable with a stranger touching your arms, for example while dancing or being led to trial. Intimacy between characters in public is played as “what you see is what you get”, for example touching hands, kisses on the cheek, or kissing on the mouth. However, note that public intimacy in 17th century Sweden was rare – just standing close to someone or holding their hand would be seen as clear intent! If the weather is fine, it will be possible to wash and bathe in the stream a short walk from the village, either partly clothed or naked.
Obvious flirting, including flirting from one character aimed towards an uninterested or unwilling second party, will be part of play and could be witnessed by anyone. Any sexual play between characters should however never be seen by other characters, as that would have been highly improper, and should be negotiated beforehand between the players.
Sexual violence is not a general theme of The One Without Sin, but we do not forbid players to play scenes including the topic. If the players of, for example, certain married characters would like to take the play in that direction, that is allowed. However, no play on sexual violence, including discussions about it happening in- or offgame, should ever reach players who haven’t opted in on playing on the theme, and the responsibility of that is on the players who are part of the scene.
More information around calibration and safety mechanics will come in hand outs and during workshops before the larp.
